Privacy Policy
1. Controller and contact
PulseKaki ("PulseKaki", "we", "us", or "our") is the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through the Services. Questions, requests, or complaints regarding this policy or the processing of your personal data may be directed to our Data Protection Officer at hello@pulsekaki.com.
2. Categories of personal data we process
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: mobile telephone number (required and verified by SMS), email address (optional), date of birth, and country of residence.
- Profile information: display name, pronouns, biography, avatar configuration, voice introduction, declared interests, and mood status.
- User-generated content: posts, comments, voice notes, direct messages, Orbit memberships, and virtual gifts sent or received.
- Subscription information: receipt tokens supplied by the applicable app store. We do not receive or store full payment card details.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: platform, device model, operating system version, install identifier, and the platform-scoped identifier. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
- Usage information: interaction events, and session metadata, processed for the limited purposes of product improvement and abuse prevention.
- Approximate location: city-level location, collected only where you have enabled the Nearby feature. This feature is disabled by default.
- Network information: Internet Protocol address (truncated after seven days) and connection type.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- Biometric identifiers or facial-recognition embeddings. We do not perform facial analysis on uploaded images beyond running our safety classifier.
- Contact lists, SMS messages, call logs, or the contents of your photo library, other than individual files you actively select for upload.
3. Purposes and legal bases for processing
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Provision of the Services: to deliver content, route communications, operate Spotlights, and host voice rooms (performance of a contract).
- Trust and safety: to moderate content, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and investigate user reports (legitimate interests and legal obligations). See Section 6.
- Personalisation and recommendations: to compute personality-affinity scores and suggest Orbits. Our recommender relies on on-platform behaviour and does not incorporate third-party signals.
- Billing and subscription management: to validate Apple App Store and Google Play receipts and reconcile coin balances.
- Communications: to send transactional messages, service notices, and, where you have opted in, product updates (consent or legitimate interests, as applicable).
4. Pulse Coach
Pulse Coach is an assistant powered by large language models. When you initiate a Coach session, it may access the following information:
- Your own profile and posts; and
- The public profile of another user, only when you have expressly identified that user as the subject of the session.
Pulse Coach does not access other users' direct messages, private Orbits, or your stored conversations beyond the active session. Coach conversations are retained in encrypted form for thirty (30) days for safety review and may be deleted earlier upon request. Usage of Pulse Coach is rate-limited across all subscription tiers, including Elite, in order to manage operating costs and discourage compulsive use.
5. Disclosure of personal data
We disclose personal data only as described below:
- Service providers: infrastructure and hosting providers, including the cloud region serving your account, which process personal data on our behalf and in accordance with our written instructions.
- Payment processors: regional payment gateways, in connection with subscription billing.
- Law enforcement and regulators: where we are legally compelled to disclose personal data. We publish a periodic transparency report summarising such requests.
We do not permit advertisers to purchase targeting against our users.
6. Retention
- Account data: retained for the duration of your account.
- Visitor history: retained in raw form for thirty (30) days, after which it is aggregated. Paid tiers surface only the resulting revelations; the underlying log is purged.
- Direct messages: retained for so long as both parties choose to keep them. Server-side copies of deleted chats are removed within thirty (30) days.
- Reports and moderation records: retained for two (2) years in accordance with regulatory expectations.
- Deleted accounts: subject to a thirty (30) day grace period followed by tombstoning; backups are rotated off within ninety (90) days.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable data-protection law, you may exercise the following rights:
- Access and portability: request a copy of your personal data via Settings → Privacy → Download my data. Requests are fulfilled within thirty (30) days.
- Erasure: request deletion of your account via Settings → Privacy → Delete account. A thirty (30) day grace period applies, during which deletion remains reversible.
- Rectification: update profile information at any time. To correct payment records, please contact hello@pulsekaki.com.
- Objection and restriction: opt out of analytics and non-essential notifications independently from within Settings.
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority competent for your jurisdiction.
8. Cookies
Our marketing website uses a single strictly-necessary session cookie together with an anonymous analytics cookie. We do not deploy third-party tracking cookies or share cookie data with advertising networks.
9. Children's privacy
Accounts for individuals under the age of thirteen (13) are rejected at registration. Accounts belonging to users aged thirteen (13) to seventeen (17) are subject to enhanced protections, including the disabling of direct messages from non-contacts, voice rooms with adults, live calls, and Pulse Coach. We may, without prior notice, close any account we have reason to believe belongs to a person below our minimum age and remove the associated content.
10. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data. The Services are subject to independent penetration testing prior to public launch, prior to the launch of payment functionality, and on an annual basis thereafter. We operate a public bug-bounty programme to encourage responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities.
11. Changes to this policy
We may, without prior notice, amend this Privacy Policy from time to time including clarifications, typographical corrections, and updates required by applicable law. A dated change log is maintained on this page.
For questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact hello@pulsekaki.com.
